International Police Association (IPA) members Freddy and Pat of Belgium took advantage of the IPA Charter Discount and spent the day with me in Everglades National Park. I picked them up at their hotel and we drove down to Flamingo and launched the boat. We took what I call the circle tour route, traveling over 70 miles by flats boat
through Florida Bay, to the Gulf of Mexico, up to Shark River and return via the backcountry of White Water Bay. Along the way they caught some fish, spent time with beach activities including lunch, shelling, and a shoreline walk, and engaged in some wildlife viewing opportunities where porpoise played by the boat, eagles flew over head, manatees swam by, had a rare encounter with a 10 foot salt water crocodile and had numerous bird viewing opportunities of Roseate Spoonbills, Herons, Egrets, Osprey, Pelicans, and Ibis. Upon their return to the dock they were able to shop for souvenirs at the Flamingo Store. The weather was outstanding. Freddy and Pat commented that it was the best holiday they ever had.
